Turtles cannot fully express themselves while they are clothed, which limits their swimming, climbing, and basking abilities. Turtles cannot move about or regulate their body temperature correctly unless their shell and limbs are free to move around.

In order to maintain a constant internal temperature, turtles bask in heat lamps or ultraviolet B lights. Turtles may easily overheat and suffer from heat stress or heat stroke if they are covered in clothing, which impedes this process.

Clothes worn by turtles might cause skin irritations due to their delicate skin. Neglected skin irritations in turtles may lead to chafing, abrasions, or infections caused by friction from clothes rubbing on their skin.

Curious creatures, turtles use their beaks to probe their surroundings. If the turtle tries to bite or swallow the clothing that is loose or hanging, it might choke. Garbage obstructions and other gastrointestinal problems may occur if threads or fabric is ingested.

As wild creatures, turtles have unique behavioral and ecological requirements. Because being clothed disturbs the turtle's feeling of safety and comfort, it may induce tension and anxiety. Turtles exhibit behaviors such as hostility, decreased eating, and hiding when they are stressed.

Clothes that are too tight, particularly around the neck and head might impede a turtle's airflow. Turtles may get respiratory problems if they are suffocating or if they get cloth stuck in their mouths or noses.

Turtles' natural behavior and needs should not be exploited for human entertainment by dressing them up. Turtles are more than just a cute accessory or a plaything; they are sentient beings who need our utmost concern and kindness.
