The Australian Kelpie, with its renowned hyperactivity and limitless energy, need a great deal of physical and mental stimulation to be in tip-top shape. These dogs need proper channelling to avoid behavioural problems caused by boredom or pent-up energy since their strong drive and stamina originate from their working ancestry. A healthy Australian Kelpie should get 1.5 to 2 hours of vigorous activity every day, including things like fast walks, jogs, runs, and brain-challenging sports.
These canines aren't made for a life of couch potato status; they need mental and physical challenges to flourish. Kelpies might display destructive behaviour, nervousness, or restlessness if they don't get enough exercise.
Mental stimulation is just as important as physical activity for Australian Kelpies. Because of their IQ, they should only participate in tasks that challenge them to solve problems. They may avoid mental decline caused by boredom and maintain mental acuity with the help of interactive games, puzzle toys, and obedience training.
Keep in mind that different Kelpies may have different activity requirements. How much exercise is right for you depends on a number of things, including your age, health, and personality.
For the most part, older Kelpies don't need as much exercise as younger ones, and dogs with a lot of boundless energy can need even more. Individualizing the training program for each Kelpie is the best way to keep them healthy and avoid behavioural issues caused by a lack of mental and physical stimulation.
