grooming supplies for bassetoodle

Basetoodles' fur, like that of other Doodle varieties, has to be brushed or combed every day to keep it from matting. Some Basetoodles have straight, rather than curly, fur, which requires far less maintenance than the norm.

All Basetoodles need to get their ears cleaned on a regular basis. Your pet's doctor may suggest a gentle ear cleaning solution that will keep your dog's ears clean and healthy. In addition, you should take your dog to the groomer often so that their nails can be filed and their hair may be cut out of their eyes.

Brushing your Basetoodle at least once a week will keep its coat in good condition and free of knots and mats. Work your way slowly and carefully from the head to the tail using a slicker brush or comb.

Your Basetoodle needs a bath every four to six weeks, at most. Use a gentle dog shampoo and warm water, then rinse well to get rid of any soapy film.

Every four to six weeks, or more often if necessary, you should also clip your nails. To avoid bleeding and pain, use a dog-specific nail clipper to trim your pooch's nails.

Your Basetoodle has to get his ears cleaned on a regular basis to avoid getting an infection. Carefully use a wet cloth or cotton ball to wipe the inner ear flap, taking care not to force any dirt further into the ear.

Brushing your Basetoodle's teeth with a soft-bristled toothbrush and dog-friendly toothpaste twice or three times a week will help maintain their oral health and avoid dental issues. Professional grooming may be essential if your Basetoodle's coat gets matted; a groomer can expertly remove mats and tangles to restore a clean look to your dog's coat.
