Water

monitoring bernedoodle water consumption

For a healthy dog, it's recommended that you give it 20–70 ml of water per kilogram of body weight per day. Both insufficient and excessive water consumption may have serious consequences for your dog's health, so keeping track of how much water he or she drinks is essential.

Dehydration results from drinking too little water, whereas drinking too much water might point to organ dysfunction.

Like many other breeds of dogs, Bernedoodles can swim, but they usually need to be taught how to do it properly. They need to be progressively introduced to the water and trained to feel at ease in the water.

While having fun in the water, certain dogs, such as Goldendoodles and the bigger Bernedoodle varieties, may accidentally consume considerable quantities of water. This might make them feel thirsty on a hot day, leading them to drink excessively if water is made available.

Several variables affect how much water a Bernedoodle dog drinks each day, including the dog's size, its degree of physical activity, and the weather. A Bernedoodle needs around 1 ounce of water for every pound of body weight every day as a rough rule of thumb.
