The first step is to know your betta; if you spend some time with your betta, she easily recognizes you and creates a bond with you. She closely monitors your movement. When she sees you she sees she swims towards you.
Now next thing is catching the bettas' attention. You can catch attention via light, sounds, etc. Here I will share a few tricks to catch better attention.
Before teaching any technique to your betta, train your betta to follow directions. First, catch the
betta's attention, by dragging your finger across the fish tank, if they notice your finger they swim toward them, elsewhere simply ignore them. Flashing the light or clapping to drag the attention of your betta in the direction of your finger. Once the betta notices the finger and swims toward the finger. Move a finger up and down or right and left. Teach other things once they follow your finger consistently.
Following the direction via finger is one of the important factors of the bettas training. With this basic technique, betta learns many things instantly. When you start the training, start with this. So, if the betta takes time to learn basic techniques, give her some time to adjust.
Betta is a natural jumper. To train your betta for jumping. Take one stick and any dried frozen food. Hook the food in the stick. Place the stick above the fish tank. Now try to catch the attention of the betta. If the betta notices the stick move the stick up, for food betta jumps into the water. If they successfully jump, reward them with food. This trick performs when you need a lid if they jump.
Another important trick is to pass the hoop, this is a hard trick to teach. Use a pipe and band it with a circular motion. Make sure that whatever you use is safe and clean. Move your finger across the front and it will move through the hoop simply following your finger. When Betta successfully passes in the hoop, reward them with food.
A trainer knows how to train. the best way to teach them and reward them with each successful
attempt.use pellets instead of bloodworms. Pellets work like chips, offering them catchy food instead of regular food, a Betta can see eating as special food and more encouragement.
There are a lot of rules and restrictions, and sometimes it's even illegal to give hard training to pets when you try to train them. Because of their size, speed, and surprising behavior, betta can easily adapt to things.
Do training sessions once per day. Don’t over-train; when you start the training start with a 10-minute session. Give them a proper rest and sufficient relaxation time. Don’t force them. Once they are used to it, arrange 3 – 4 sessions per day with 5-10 minutes. Give a proper time to rest for the health of betta.
Hygiene is important; wash your hands. A shop contains toxins so it is better to avoid them. When you try to teach them new tricks the place is quiet. Don’t be aggressive when you try to teach them to be patient. It’s taking time to teach them.
