Feeding is the biggest hassle with betta; it is difficult to feed them. Even if they are picky eaters and they don’t prefer to eat alone if you feed them in pairs, feeding may become easy. There are some tips you should follow while feeding them:

Since they are mainly carnivores, betta should eat a wide range of entire prey, such as birds, fish, and other suitable sources of protein. For betta, it's important to provide them a balanced diet that caters to their unique nutritional requirements at each stage of life.

Set up a regular feeding routine. Several variables, including whether the betta is young or adult, male or female because each has its nutritional requirements, affect how often it is fed.

For the prevention of obesity provide them with light food such as live food brine shrimp and and frozen food bloodworms. Avoid carbohydrate-rich food such as wheat because betta cannot digest it which leads to constipation and other health issues. Try to provide animal protein in the betta diet.

You can maintain a feeding schedule, and feed them twice a day. Offer small portions of food every time. Overfeeding can lead to obesity. We recommended once a once-a-week fasting day. The fast gives rest to their digestive system and prevents them from constipation.
