While Brazilian Terriers, like all canines, can tolerate a wide temperature range, they fare best in milder environments. Even though they can survive in either hot or cold environments, severe temperatures can be fatal for them.
Brazilian Terriers prefer temperatures between 15 and 27 degrees Celsius (60 and 80 Fahrenheit). They can survive in temperatures that are slightly lower or higher for brief periods of time, but they may require special care to ensure their health and safety.
Brazilian Terriers, with their short, smooth coats, are better suited to tropical climates than harsh winters. On the other hand, they can survive at colder temperatures for shorter amounts of time if given the right care and attention.
Brazilian Terriers need cool, shady places to rest and drink water in hot weather. On those hot and muggy days, they may also appreciate having access to air-conditioned interior settings. They can easily overheat if left in the sun for too long, so keep them out of the spotlight whenever possible.
Brazilian Terriers can need some extra warmth throughout the winter months. During the colder months, it's best to keep them inside on a warm dog bed and restrict their time outside. To keep your Brazilian Terrier comfortable when walking or playing outside, consider purchasing a dog jumper or coat if you live in a cold climate.
Your Brazilian Terrier's comfort in varying climates will ultimately be determined by their unique threshold for heat and cold. Keep an eye on your dog's temperature and humidity levels and make any necessary adjustments to their living space to make sure they're comfortable and healthy all year long.
