Grooming

comfortable climate for chi chi dogs

Chihuahuas and Chinese Cresteds often have offspring with coats that share traits from both breeds. Chi Chis tend to have a hairless look except from the hair on their ears and tail if neither of their Chinese Crested parents is a Powder Puff variation. Chi Chis may be found in a wide variety of colors, although the most common ones are brown, black, fawn, cream, and white.

Some people with fur allergies prefer designer dogs since they are practically hairless save for little patches of fur. Long-coated Chi Chis do exist, albeit they may not be as allergy-friendly as the shorter- or hairless-coated varieties.

Chi Chis aren't ideal pets for cold climates because of their small stature and short coats.

You may want to get your Chi Chi a coat for the colder months so you can meet their individual demands. In addition, you should protect your pet's ears, nose, and other sensitive regions that are not fully covered by fur by using sunscreen throughout the summer.

The good news is that grooming is simple for both hairless and longer-haired Chi Chi coats. To keep their coats in good condition and looking their best, a weekly brushing should be all that's required.
