Chocolate betta fish well known as Siamese fighting fish are water fish native to Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand. Till now 73 betta species discovered, and all these species are acquired from the betta splendens. Till now a total of 37 varieties of Siamese fighting fish discovered. All have different colors, shades, tails, and fins. Via selective breeding, you can create beautiful specimens. The betta lives in fresh tropical water.
Chocolate betta is a very high-grade coloration fish of the variety of classic long-tail fish. It is one of the prettiest tropical freshwater fish because their fin appears like a sunflower. They are well known for different stunning colors and large, flowing fins. The colors include solid colors and fins available in different varieties.
For a healthy betta maintaining water parameters is a must. Betta prefers water temperatures between 72-82 F. They can survive hot weather, but cannot tolerate cold weather. If the heater is cold they require a heater to maintain temperature. They can endure the hardness between 0 – 20 KH. They can survive in a short space such as a bowl and live in poor quality water. prefer warm water and slightly acidic water (pH 6.0 to 8.0).
They prefer to live in large spaces, so they need 10 gallons of water to live freely, a small space betta fills stress and unhappiness. Betta inhales oxygen from the air because of their labyrinth organ.
betta prefers to eat live food and frozen food which include mosquito, brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. yellow betta can enjoy high protein dried and frozen foods. Their favorite foods are brine shrimp when they are young and finger food which is bloodworms. A nutrition-rich diet is important to keep your betta breeding successful. Offer high-quality animal protein-rich food. In a diet, they eat common fish food such as bloodworms, mosquito larvae, and shrimp.
If betta can live in an unmaintain tank they suffer from bacterial infection and fungal infections which cause many diseases such as fin rot, and velvet.
Both male and female bettas are aggressive, male betta are more territorial than female betta. They are friendly only compatible species.
pollution industrial development is the biggest threat to the wild bettas. their natural habitat is destroyed because of human activity which is chemical and refinery plantation or industrial development.
