Chocolate betta are carnivores so they prefer to eat getable and animal protein-rich food. betta consumes a variety of foods that are animal-based and high in protein. You can also feed them dry foods like flakes, granules, and pellets, and also include frozen and live food such as artemia and blood worms. Don’t overfeed them. Overfeeding leads to digestion and obesity. Properly supply a vitamin-enriched diet which increases the immunity system.
Bloodworms and frozen brine shrimp are great, but they will be happy when you provide them with live food. They will eat everything that is put in the tanks including small insects, snails, and brine shrimp.
Chocolate betta is famous for its appearance and its color. So it is essential to maintain their healthy color. Healthy diet maintain their natural color. Offer them a variety of food so betta gets all the essential nutrition. They opt for meats because they require a large amount of protein for proper functioning.
If you overfeed the betta they become overweight and constipated. So make sure that you do not overfeed them, and break the food into small pieces so you can avoid choking hazards.
Common betta food:
Flake food: flake food comes with different fillers so Betta remains interested in food. But feeding for a long time with the same food causes bloating.
Frozen food: this is one of the favorite betta foods such as bloodworms. Some of the betta caretakers use frozen food like junk food or primary food.
Freeze-dried: treat your betta sometimes for change offer them Daphnia, Brine Shrimps, and Bloodworms as an occasional treat. When they are bored from the regular diet offer them dried worms or shrimp.
