Origin Description

Although its origins are unknown, the Collier, or Collie for short, is a popular and adaptable dog breed. It is said to have descended from diligent herding dogs. For generations, people outside of Scotland knew very little about these rough-coated Collies.

Rough Collies were earliest littler in size, with wider heads and shorter muzzles. Water rescue,' herding cattle as well as leading cows and sheep to markets, and protecting flocks were just a few of the many authorized responsibilities done by these dogs in Scotland and England.

Description

The median,' altitude for a male Collie is 24 inches and an appellate is 26 inches. The rough coated athletics of the Collie stands out visually as well as while the smooth coated change is endearing in its understated way.

Both types may be found in a wide range of coat colors, from sable and white to colored and blue Berle to solid white. Herding collies tend to be stockier than show collies.
