The origin of crowntail betta can be traced back to the shallow rice field of southeast Asia, mainly Thailand previously known as Siams source. Crowntail betta is a gene of Siamese fighting fish. The crowntail betta is mostly found in South Asian countries. Combtail betta is an aggressive and territorial fish. A crowntail betta is not just an aquarium fish but they are also fighting fish. They carry a long history as the warrior of Siam.

A crowntail betta fish scientifically known as betta splendens belongs to the family of Oshpronrmidae and carries the betta gene. They were discovered for fighting. The breeding caught the attention of British ichthyologists who named them betta splendens. In 1997 Achmad Yusuf selectively bred them, and they became popular worldwide. initially phase they are used to gambling matches and cockfighting.

Their habitat is found in various regions of Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. It is one of the attractive aquarium fish and carries the history of the Siam warrior.

A crowntail betta was available in vibrant colors and fin. They have different colors such as blue, red, purple a solid color, and combination color. They have a metallic scale of green and other bright colors. The male and female betta have one small difference which is a the female has a shorter fin and body than the male. The male comes with a more vibrant color compared to the female.
