Brushing: Brushing your pet on a regular basis can help keep their coat healthy, remove loose hair, and keep them from matting. To reach the deep undercoat and get rid of knots and dead hair, use a slicker brush or an undercoat rake.
Although once or twice weekly brushing is usually adequate, more regular brushing may be required to control the increased hair loss that occurs during shedding seasons.
The coat of a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is self-cleaning and the dog seldom needs a wash because of this.
However, regular showers can maintain their coat and skin in good condition. Rinse properly after washing your dog with a shampoo designed for canines. Not bathing them enough can prevent the loss of natural oils from their coat, which may cause dryness and skin discomfort.
Trimming nails on a regular basis is important for avoiding ingrown nails, which may be painful and even dangerous. Czechoslovakian Wolfdog nails should be trimmed every two to four weeks, or more often if necessary.
Avoid cutting into the quick (the soft tissue under the nail), since this might result in blood and discomfort. If you are unsure, see a specialist in pet grooming or veterinary medicine.
Examine your dog's ears often for redness, infection, or wax accumulation. Use cotton swabs and an ear cleaning solution designed for dogs to gently remove debris from their ears. Don't use cotton swabs since they may force particles farther into your ear, where it might do more harm.
Brushing your teeth: It's good for your general health. Plaque, tartar, and gum disease may be avoided by routinely cleaning your Czechoslovakian Wolfdog's teeth using a dog-specific toothbrush and toothpaste. Maintaining excellent oral health requires regular tooth brushing, ideally twice a week.
Some owners choose to have their Czechoslovakian Wolfdogs professionally groomed on occasion, despite the fact that regular at-home grooming is typically adequate. Groomers may do things like cut the hair, clean the ears, and express the glands behind the ears
