Delta tail betta originated in the Southeast Asia basin in Thailand, and Indonesia is the betta fish. This freshwater fish is an experiment. The native is from Southeast Asia, regions such as Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Their natural habitat ranges from rice paddies to slow-moving water and flood plains.
A Deltatail betta fish scientifically known as betta splendens belongs to the family of gourami and carries the betta gene. They are a variation of the siaseme fighting fish; which is popular for their fighting spirit.
Delta tail betta is water fish so they prefer to live in warm environments with a temperature range between 75- 80 F (24 to 28 C). They like acidic water, and the pH value is between 6.0 to 8.0. the hardness should be 5- 20dH.
betta is a territorial fish that often displays aggression towards the same tendency, even if you can put two betta together, they end up killing each other and injuring each other.. if you put them together closely monitor their movement.
A betta breathes directly from the air just like a human because of the labyrinth organ. Because of these, they can survive a small amount of time outside the water if needed.
A beautiful and elegant-looking fish is an omnivore. They prefer protein protein-rich diet. They eat common fish food which is live or frozen like bloodworms, mosquito larvae, and earthworms. Sometimes you offer them dried food and frozen food. Bettas have a weak immune system. So, don’t overfed them it leads to bloating and constipation.
pollution industrial development is the biggest threat to the wild bettas. Much of their natural habitat has been destroyed by human activity which is chemical and refinery plantation or industrial development.
