Ammonia and nitrite are extremely toxic to fish; they should always be 0 ppm. Nitrate can be below 20 ppm, which is managed by regular water changes and a good filtration system. A high toxin level may kill the betta.
Ideal tank mate
The perfect tankmate for Deltatail betta is a female betta, and the ideal choice is keeping them solo. If you want to add on other species make sure that the space is large and the species belongs to the peaceful community. If you pu aggressive species they end up injured or killed.
