Once Double Doodles achieve sexual maturity, they may procreate just like any other dog. Although it depends on the dog, sexual maturity in a Double Doodle usually occurs between 6 and 12 months of age. It is advised, however, that a dog's physical and mental maturity be attained before it is bred.
Responsible and thoughtful breeding is essential. For help determining when to breed and checking that the male and female dogs are in good condition, it's best to see a vet or professional breeder.
Sexual maturity in Double Doodles may occur anywhere from 6 months to a year, but it's best to wait until they've reached their full physical and mental maturity before attempting to breed them. The average age for this to happen is two or older. When dogs are bred at too early of an age, it may cause problems for the mother and the pups.
Both the male and female canines need to be in excellent condition and undergo genetic testing before being bred. In order to detect any underlying health conditions that might be passed onto the offspring, regular veterinarian checkups are needed.
The danger of passing on common hereditary disorders like hip dysplasia or certain eye illnesses to the pups may be reduced by doing genetic testing on the parent breeds.
Dogs used for breeding should have acceptable and consistent temperaments. Dogs with bad temperaments, such as aggression or instability, shouldn't be bred since these qualities might be passed onto future generations. Dogs that might be used for breeding should have their behaviour and temperament evaluated to make sure they are good parents.
