Although Drever dogs, like many others, can adjust to a wide range of conditions, they aren't able to withstand really hot or cold weather. Because of the insulation their thick coat offers, DDreverstend to do best in mild to chilly climates. However, they may not be able to withstand conditions of very high or low temperatures.
Because of their small stature and thick coat, DDreversmay be more prone to heat-related problems in warmer weather. Make sure they drink enough water, stay out of the sun as much as possible during the warmest portions of the day, and find shade if possible. It is important to keep a careful eye out for symptoms of overheating, such as shallow breathing, lack of energy, or rapid panting, and to take quick action to reduce their temperature.
Conversely, due to their short coat, DDreversmay need supplementary insulation in very cold weather. In the winter, you may keep them warm by dressing them in an appropriate dog coat or sweater. Furthermore, it is crucial to minimize exposure to severe colds, especially when adequate shelter is not available.
Factors such as acclimatization, age, and personal health might ultimately affect a Drever's temperature tolerance.
Owners must closely monitor their Drever's behaviour and make necessary adjustments to their living surroundings based on what they notice. To make sure they're okay in those very hot conditions, you have to keep an eye out for any symptoms of discomfort.
To be a good pet owner, you should talk to your vet about your Drever's health, the weather where you live, and anything else that may be special. Drevers, regardless of the weather, may be healthy and happy when given a secure and welcoming home and regular veterinarian treatment.
