Feeding is a source of healthy living. Elephant ear betta is carnivores. Their diet consists of animal protein and leaves. A betta prefers a variety of foods which includes frozen food or freeze-dried food. You can feed them animal protein-rich food and include green veggies in their diet. You can also feed them dry foods like flakes, granules, and pellets, and also include frozen and live food such as artemia and blood worms. Don’t overfeed them. Overfeeding can cause obesity or digestive problems. Properly supply a vitamin-enriched diet which increases the immunity system.
For this little hunter, a high-quality pellet, enriched with protein is considered as a base meal, with a healthy treat. Which can be either live or frozen. Occasionally you can serve them brine shrimp and bloodworms.
Some basic food you can offer to elephant ear betta are
Pellets: pellets and omega are the first choice for elephant ear betta keepers. This food was easy to digest and rich in protein.
Flake food: flake food comes with different fillers so Betta remains interested in food. But feeding for a long time the same food causes bloating.
Frozen food: this is one of the favorite betta foods such as bloodworms. Some of the betta caretakers use frozen food like junk food or primary food.
Freeze-dried: treat your betta sometimes for change offer them Daphnia, Brine Shrimps, and Bloodworms as an occasional treat. When they are bored from the regular diet offer them dried worms or shrimp.
Live food: live food is common for betta fry. some other live foods that can be used are mosquito larvae, bloodworms, blackworms, and small insects.
