Since they are mainly carnivores, betta should eat a wide range of entire prey, such as birds, fish, and other suitable sources of protein. For betta, it's important to provide them a balanced diet that caters to their unique nutritional requirements at each stage of life.
Set up a regular feeding routine. Several variables, including whether the betta is young or adult, male or female because each has its nutritional requirements, affect how often it is fed.
Betta is a big mouth so take a small portion of the food. Like other carnivores they have a short digestive system; a basic thing of carnivores' dieting process is they have difficulty of processing carbohydrates such as corn and wheat; which are generally shown in many fish. A betta prefers animal animal-rich protein diet.
You can offer them foods like flakes, granules, and pellets, and also include frozen and live food such as artemia and blood worms. Don’t overfeed them. Overfeeding leads to obesity and a swim bladder. Properly supply vitamin-rich diet which increases immunity system.
When you feed the betta maintain a proper feeding schedule, feeding small portion of food twice a days. You can serve 4 to 6 pellets in every meal. But don’t overfeed them. Once a week choose a fast for them to good digestion system.
Make enrichment a part of your feeding schedule. To do this, you may use mechanisms that make the betta work for their food, much as they would in the wild, or you can move the food to various spots in the tank.
