Reproduction is apart of the betta lifecycle. they breed in captivity. Beautiful and easy to care betta fish is popular among fish in aquarium. Betta comes in different colors and shapes because it’s developed due to selective breeding.

The first step in selecting the ideal pair, both betta are healthy and active. Arrange a separate tank of around 20 gallons and a breeding tank temperature of around 50 degrees. Raise the water temperature around 65 degrees.

The female spit the egg from her mouth, and the male catches the egg and carefully places it in a bubble nest. This process is time-consuming and hectic. After spawning, the female leaves the place. And males protect the eggs.

A male protects the egg from another male betta. Eggs hatch in 1-2 days, they get nutrition in the yolk sack in the 3rd and 4th day. After they can eat shrimp as a first food. The male takes care of the fry until he is ready to free swim. The betta eats his fry without hatching.

Once the betta fry swims themselves. Make sure they feed the baby a nutritious diet such as mini worms, infusoria, and vinegar eels. As they grow they need a high-protein diet offer them baby brine shrimp.
