As their name implies, giant betta fish are different from all other betta species because of their larger size. The little giant can reach up to 7 inches long. They have slim and widened body shapes, with short fins and tails.
They are available in brown color, male has a more vibrant color than females like other betta species. They have beautifully crafted dots all over their scales.
They are available in different color combinations usually seen in Betta anabatoides. They may have appeared in dull colors. They are available in bright colors such as red, green, blue, and purple as well as more natural colors such as black, cream, and tan.
Compared to male and female giant betta male giant betta is more attractive than female giant betta. Males have slightly shimmery and multi-color, whereas females have slightly dull colors. Female giant bettas have duller color, compared with male are known for their vivid hues and color. Male bettas display bright colors such green, red, orange, and shades of blue.
In terms of size, giant male betta's impressive length ranges between 3.5 to 4. The females are slightly smaller in size.
Common colors
They are available in different variety of colors such as solid red, blue, yellow, black, white, vibrant orange, multi-color marble, candy, Nemo, galaxy, fancy copper, cellophane, galaxy koi, purple, alien. Some dragon scale betta has rare colors such as solid orange, metallic, turquoise, lavender, mustered gas, grizzle, green and purple.
Color pattern
· Solid – no color or pattern variation, whole fish has the same color.
· Bi-color – Fins color differs from the body color which is a Bi-color.
· Cambodian – fins have a solid color whereas the body is colorless or pale in color.
· Butterfly – fins have a multiple color pattern like butterfly
· Marble – random patches and irregular patterns throughout the body and fin.
· Piebald – Pale flesh-colored face irrespective of body color.
Tail and fin variation develop by breeder:
· Veil tail – basic tail type of betta, uneven tail and expand finagle length; caudally fin ray split in two-part
Crowntail – Fin rays are constantly increased and make a look like a large crown.
· Combtail – Mini version of the crown tail, a combination of veil tail and crown tail
· Feather tail – same as rosetail, also a rough look of the rosetail some crisp and freeze.
