Giant betta is omnivorous, they eat a combination diet that contains animal protein and green leaves. You can also feed them dry foods like flakes, granules, and pellets, and also include frozen and live food such as artemia and blood worms. Don’t overfeed them. Overfeeding leads to many diseases such as obesity.. Properly supply a vitamin-enriched diet which increases the immunity system.
The giant betta should be a carnivore-specific pellet. You can also supply them with meaty food which is fresh or frozen. A hard shell affects the digestion system.
Make sure that you don't overfeed them because it causes constipation and stress. A swollen abdomen causes a swim bladder, so betta can not swim freely; which is risky for your fish. If you overfeed giant betta that pollute the water and leave toxic compounds in the tank which may kill the fish, and cause bacterial or fungal infection.
They are natural hunters, they prefer to eat in bloodworms or brine shrimp. Change feeding food from time to time. Offer a variety of food. if possible arrange the feeding schedule.
Whatever method is used, avoid including large meals. giant betta requires more food than smaller betta. They also eat aquarium shrimp, considered a costly diet for bettas. If you put them with amino shrimp; they will eat them.
Giant betta are sensitive toward food and environmental changes or water parameters.If their tank water is compromised by inappropriate cleaning activity, they can easily develop multiple diseases that are hard to cure.
A big giant betta fish has a very small stomach and a weak immune system. So, easily develop digestive problems such as constipation and bloating. So, provide extra care and attention to their meal.
