Cooler conditions are ideal for the Golden Newfie, although it can usually handle moderate heat. In colder weather, they are able to stay warm because to the insulation provided by their thick double coat. But keep in mind that their size and thick coat could make them uncomfortable in really hot weather.
It is very important to take measures to protect your Golden Retriever from the heat. Give Your Dog Some Shade: Make sure your dog has somewhere cool to hide from the sun. This may be an interior space that is cool and well-ventilated, a covered patio, or a shaded location in the yard.
Always give your Golden Newfie access to clean, fresh water. In order to avoid being dehydrated, make sure the water dish is conveniently located and fill it up often.
Limit Hot Weather Exercise: When the weather is hot, it's best to stay inside and avoid strenuous physical exercise. Lessen the likelihood of overheating by exercising your dog in the early morning or late evening, when temperatures are cooler.
Keep Off Hot Websites: Asphalt and concrete are two examples of scorching surfaces that may rapidly become too hot for dogs, burning their paw pads. Keep your dog away from these surfaces.
