Greyhounds have a reputation for being very gentle and tranquil dogs. Even though they move at a breakneck pace, they nevertheless like to spend a good chunk of the day lounging about. Their background as sprinters, who would alternate between periods of high activity and repose, is the root cause of this "couch potato" behavior.
