As an aquarium fish or pet, you have to teach them a few tips and tricks to entertain. Betta is difficult to train, some breeder says that it is difficult to train betta. Betta changes completely when they step into the aqua world. Betta fish is difficult to train. But they are super intelligent but you need little patience for them. You can teach them to do various things such as response through action such as following the movement.

Half sun betta is a highly active and fierce betta. As we know betta fish is highly curiousand intelligent by nature. Training betta fish is a good way to keep them engaged. We are going to discuss the most interesting tricks like following directions, swimming through a hoop, batta jumping, etc.

The first step is to identify and be comfortable with betta, next one is to catch the attention of betta.

Sound and vibration: fish have lateral line organs, they react when sound and vibration. At a major aqua, fish hear their trainer walking out on catwalks and platforms indicating that food

is on the way. You can do this using a bell, call, clap, or footstep. The biggest components of training are patience and consistency. Use the same signal every time.

Light/shapes: switching light is the most common signal for indoor tanks. Fish can see color, but shapes and different colors will be easy to recognize.

Teach Betta to follow the directions. Move your finger back and forth across the tank, when the fish do the same as you instructed reward with the fish food. Encourage fish with food.

Repeat the procedure when they cannot properly follow your fingertip. The first step is getting your face to finger, teach them your betta is following your finger's direction. In the starting phase, it’s difficult. Move your finger until they do not follow.

Fetch a mirror and a red or capped pen. Use the same pen throughout training to easily identify. Put a small mirror and pen in the tank. Use the same pen throughout the training session. Once betta flares, place the pen next to a mirror. Repeat the process here or four times. Sometimes betta may be afraid and didn’t move. Once betta is comfortable and starts flaring replace a mirror with the pen. Give a reward when he/she is successful. Each time they flare give them food to encouragement.

During the flaring, they look twice in their size. Flaring provides prevention from boredom is considered as an exercise and promotes a bubble nest. Put a small mirror and pen in the tank.

Use the same pen throughout the training session. Once betta flares, place the pen next to a mirror. Repeat the process here or four times. Sometimes betta may be afraid and didn’t move. Once betta comfortable and start flaring remove the mirror and place the pen. Give a reward when he/she is successful.

For this choose a hoop or bangles. Place it on the side. Move your finger where the hoop is placed. Every successful attempt gives them rewards. Repeat the process until they naturally swim through the hoop. In a starting phase take a big size of the hoop, when betta learns to swim through the hoop, gradually decrease the size of the hoop until it’s slightly larger than one inch in diameter. This is a difficult task so it’s taking time to teach. Encourage them. You can use pipe cleaner as a hoop; band a pipe cleaner in a round shape.

A trainer knows how to train betta, your fish by using food as encouragement. With practice, your fish learn to follow the finger. Pellets work like chips for the betta, use pellets instead of regular food, a betta will attract and come toward you.

Hygiene is important; wash your hands with warm water. A shop contains toxins so better to avoid them. When you try to teach them new tricks the place is quiet. Don’t be aggressive, when you try to teach them to be patient. It’s taking time to teach them.
