Temperatures between 0 and 30 degrees Celsius (32 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit) are just OK for hovawarts because of their adapted physiology. They operate at their peak efficiency and are able to control their core temperature within this range. Hovawarts are insulated and protected from hot and cold weather by virtue of their medium-length double coat.

The thick double coat of a hovawart allows it to withstand cold weather to a great degree. Nonetheless, there are still dangers associated with extended exposure to very low temperatures, particularly below freezing. In cold weather, make sure your dog has access to suitable shelter, such a well-insulated house or a warm indoor area. Another way to keep dogs warm during cold spells is to use protective clothes, such as sweaters or jackets, and to keep them indoors as much as possible.

Extreme heat and high temperatures may be difficult for hovawarts, particularly if they are subjected to these conditions for lengthy periods of time. Overheating is more likely to occur due to their thick double layer, which makes it difficult for them to disperse heat efficiently.

It is essential to provide sufficient shade, constant access to water, and cool interior areas to ensure their well-being during hot weather. To stay cool, it's best to go for walks first thing in the morning or late at night rather than during the middle of the day when temperatures are high.

Hovawarts should not be exposed to temperatures higher than 30°C (86°F), which is the recommended range. They run the risk of hypothermia, heat stroke, and other heat-related illnesses if exposed to temperatures that are too high or too low.

Watching the weather and making necessary adjustments to their living circumstances is of utmost importance. Keeping them indoors or providing extra temperature control measures like air conditioning or heating may be important in harsh weather scenarios like heat waves or severe cold spells.
