Characteristics

Physical Characteristics:

Macaws are striking birds with large, robust bodies and long tails, typical of parrots. They have strong, curved beaks designed for cracking open nuts and seeds, along with zygodactyl feet (two toes facing forward and two toes facing backward) that provide a firm grip on branches. Their vibrant plumage includes a kaleidoscope of colors such as blue, green, red, and yellow, varying among species.
