Description

The penang betta originated from south asia and more commonly found in the flowing jungle streams of Thailand, Sumatra and riau islands. They were discovered in Malaysia, Peninsular, Terengganu, pahand, Penang, Johor and Singapore.

Their natural habitat ranges from rice paddies to slow-moving water and flood plains. Bettas catch the environment and develop an ability to breathe air from the atmosphere, so they inhale oxygen from the air using their labyrinth organ.
