Small to medium-sized dogs having origins in the United States 19th century, the Rat Terrier is prized for its intelligence, agility, and skilful hunting abilities. While there is some disagreement on the exact breed's origins, it is generally agreed that American ranchers and farmers were instrumental in the breed's growth.
Their main goal was to grow a conciliatory dog that could have managed rat infestations on their estates as well as which is how the Rat Terrier came to be. These early breeders aimed to develop a dog that was both exceedingly prey driven and able of hunting in a change of settings.
Rat terriers are tiny to medium sized canines with a declaration and hefty body. They was distinguished by their excited and dynamical temperament.
They have a well defined head and a short, finished coat that comes in a change of colors and patterns. Their alert and discerning expressions beam their wit and sharpness.
