Coming from the Southeast Asia basin in Thailand, Indonesia is the betta fish. This freshwater fish is an experiment. The native is from Southeast Asia, regions such as Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Their natural habitat ranges from rice paddies to slow-moving water and flood plains.
A natural habitat of betta is tropical freshwater that lives in shallow, stagnant bodies of water, rice paddies, and salt marshes. The relationship with rice fields led to domestication. They live in small spaces with the appropriate segments. This betta needs a natural environment to survive.
Most of the betta is discovered in the region of South Asia's slow-moving stream. Mostly found in freshwater or tropical fish. First, they were discovered in the southeast near to Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, because of their appearance in a short period they are popular worldwide.
Red betta is highly adapted to environmental changes. betta can tolerate harsh water or toxic environments; this is a fair point to increase their popularity as pets. The two biggest threats to the wild bettas are loss of natural habitat and water pollution. Habitat loss is the process that means natural habitat can not support the native species the place is polluted and affected by pollution as a result it can not provide the proper environment to live healthy species.
Betta are active and curious personality. They are famous for their territorial nature. Put two bettas in the same tank together, they fight and cause injury to each other even death. Female betta isn’t as aggressive as a male. Female betta can live in colonies with multiple female betta, they need proper space. If the tank is spacious, females act as aggressively as males because of the space.
Red betta is water fish so they prefer to live in warm environments with a temperature range between 76- 82 F (25 to 28 C). They like acidic water, and the pH value is between 6.5 to 7.0. the hardness should be 5- 20dH.
