Red betta fish are not only popular for their vibrant color, but they are also famous for fin shapes, patterns, and color intensities. All of this combine to create a stunning appearance.
When it comes to the color intensity of red color betta adds another layer to their diverse beauty. The male betta often comes with a vibrant and intensive red color, which is different from the female. Their color is a main attraction of their personality when they try to court females.
Some betta comes with a deep, rich crimson that feels like a warmth. Some red bettas are dazzled with brighter neon red, which looks like a shimmery flame underwater. You can also find metallic scale red betta coloration.
The difference between male and female red betta appearance is males have more vibrant and intense coloration than females, female is less intense color but not dull colors. Females are also more attractive than other females. Males have larger fins and tails than females.
The beauty and elegance enhance the red tail betta because of the different coloration and fin variation.
Color pattern
Ø Solid – no color or pattern variation, whole fish has the same color.
Ø Bi-color – Fins color differs from the body color which is a Bi-color.
Ø Cambodian – fins have a solid color whereas the body is colorless or pale in color.
Ø Butterfly – fins have a multiple color pattern like a butterfly
Ø Marble – random patches and irregular patterns throughout the body and fin..
Ø Piebald – Pale flesh-colored face irrespective of body color.
Ø Full Mask – The natural color and pattern of the body is darker whereas the Face and body have the same solid color
Ø Dragon – The main body color is solid with the hard scale on the entire body
Ø Multicolor –multiple colors of the body and fin as well as different types of pattern
Ø Pastel – fin has a light shade, the body remains solid color
Breeders develop different varieties of finnage and scale:
Ø Veil tail – the most common tail type seen in aqua or pet stores. uneven tail and expand finagle length; caudally fin ray split in two parts.
Ø Crowntail – Fin rays are constantly increased and make a look like large crown.
Ø Combtail – Mini version of the crown tail, combination of veil tail and crown tail·
