Bettas are highly intelligent and known for their curious nature, and they observe them closely even the behavior of their owner. If Betta recognizes you it’s possible that she observes your behavior and movement and swims toward you or tries to catch your attention. If you spend some time near her they establish a strong bond with you and when she sees you she swims towards you.
You can teach your betta many fun loving things, you can train them to do various things; as you know betta has a playful nature you can teach them catch the ball or play with a floating objects. A child can play with Betta using a ball. Add a small bouncy ball on the top of the tank. Catch the betta's reaction to what she does. Some Betta will wander around their tank. Playing with the ball is hard and needs extra training, take time and train them to play.
You can add floating toys and objects. Betta enjoys playing with floating toys. They swim toward them and when an object catches, they jump upon them or build a floating nest. Betta has a weak immune system so they easily catch the disease if you add any objects or toys in a fish tank, make sure that things are clean and hygienic. Before adding to the tank sanitize the toys and wash them properly.
