The most attractive feature of the rosetail betta is its dramatic, flamboyant finnage. The name is derived from the individual pattern of the caudal fin, which is spread fully and resembles the petal of a rose. When they court the female to flare their fin as a dominance.
A betta comes with a striking appearance, and vibrant color and pattern. They have a vibrant color and pattern. Their fin has a complex multi-color pattern. Color pattern
Ø Solid – no color or pattern variation, whole fish has the same color.
Ø Bi-color – Fins color differs from the body color which is a Bi-color.
Ø Cambodian – fins have a solid color whereas the body is colorless or pale in color.
Ø Butterfly – fins have a multiple color pattern like a butterfly
Ø Marble – random patches and irregular patterns throughout the body and fin..
Ø Piebald – Pale flesh-colored face irrespective of body color.
Ø Full Mask – The natural color and pattern of the body is darker whereas the Face and body have the same solid color
Ø Dragon – The main body color is solid with the hard scale on the entire body
Ø Multicolor –multiple colors of the body and fin as well as different types of pattern
Ø Pastel – fin has a light shade, the body remains solid color
Breeders develop different varieties of finnage and scale:
Ø Veil tail – the most common tail type seen in aqua or pet stores. uneven tail and expand finagle length; caudally fin ray split in two parts.
