Rose tail betta is a carnivore. They prefer protein protein-rich diet. They eat common fish food which is live or frozen like bloodworms, mosquito larvae, and earthworms. Sometimes you offer them dried food and frozen food. Bettas have a weak immune system. So, don’t overfed them it leads to bloating and constipation.
Most of the betta prefer to eat live food; food which they can catch on the water surface such as small insects, mosquitos, etc. A pellet is considered a special treat to betta.
Things to remember when you feed betta such as prevent betta from overfeeding feed betta once a day. Fish can eat for 1-2 minutes; overfeeding fouls the water. Prevent water from dirt and remove extra food and dust. Before feeding throw frozen food. A baby betta it’s finely crushed flake food and smaller pellets.
A young fry diet includes Insects, tiny fish, amphibians, and crabs betta’s diet. Their food consists of smaller insects, and shrimp fish as they mature.
The Adult betta diet consists of heavy protein and live food such as invertebrates and daphnia. Captive fish will normally accept dried products once they’re edible, but you should offer live food and frozen dried food such as Daphnia, Artemia, or Bloodworm, you can offer anything to fish but the food has proper nutritional value.
You can maintain a feeding schedule, and feed them twice a day. Offer small portions of food every time. Overfeeding can lead to obesity. We recommended once a once-a-week fasting day. The fast gives rest to their digestive system and prevents them from constipation.
