The Tonkinese cat is a unique kind of cat that began in the United States returned within the Nineteen Sixties. It's not like different cats as it's a combination of different breeds, the Siamese and Burmese cats. A girl named Jane Barletta, who lived in New Jersey, first made these cats. She desired to create a cat that had the quality components of each the Siamese and Burmese cats. The Siamese cat is smart and has a cool personality, whilst the Burmese cat is calm and has a nice body.

The name "Tonkinese" comes from an area referred to as Tonkin, which was part of Vietnam. People think the Siamese cat came from there at the beginning. Sometimes, humans also name Tonkinese cats the "Golden Siamese" due to the fact they have got a lovely golden brown colour on their coats.
