Veiltail are famous for their color and appearance, they are also easy to breed and maintain. Breeding is the most important part of the betta lifecycle. They breed in captivity. Beautiful and easy to care betta fish is popular among fish in aquarium. Betta comes in different colors and shapes because it’s developed due to selective breeding.
The first step of breeding is to choose a suitable breeding tank. They need a separate tank of around 20 gallons and a breeding tank temperature of around 50 degrees. Raise the water temperature around 65 degrees. A basic setup includes three tanks one belongs to males, the second for females betta, and the third for breeding. When you set up a tank you should consider tank size, decoration, equipment, and safety.
Prepare a betta fish for breeding two weeks ago. Feed them animal protein-rich food for healthy fry. serve them bloodworms, small insects, daphnia, and tubifex worms. Spawning takes many days, females lay the eggs and males fertilize them. Females release 10, 000 eggs. Fertilized eggs can take many days to hatch. Veiltail fry are dark in color and light over time. Their complexion changes against predators. Feed them a small portion of food.
Once the betta fry swims themselves, make sure they feed the baby a nutritious diet such as mini worms, infusoria, and vinegar eels. As they grow they need a high-protein diet offer them baby brine shrimp.
