They are found for fighting and gambling but after illegal betta fighting they move to the aquarium pets which have different colors and patterns. Despite their size and the reputation of the betta family being slightly aggressive, giant betta are less aggressive than other betta species, usually, they have a calm nature. Females in a giant betta are more aggressive than male yellow betta.

Water pollution and natural habitat destruction are a threat to the wild bettas. Habitat loss is the process that means natural habitat can not support the native species the place is polluted and affected by pollution as a result it can not provide the proper environment to live healthy species.
