Health and wellness

To maintain a healthy Yellow betta requires the heater to maintain a warm environment of 76- 82 ˚F. The appropriate temperature range is 78-80˚F. They prefer slightly acidic pH levels of 6.0-7.5, although they can endure pH levels up to 8.0. Maintain a stable pH range.

Some common diseases in yellow betta:

Fin rot: fin rot is an infection caused by bacteria and its symptom is fin tearing. The symptoms begin with a tiny spot on the edges of the betta fin. This resulted in the loss of their fin. The reasons behind the bacterial infection are poor water quality, the low temperature below 78, and the build-up of toxic ammonia compounds. It commonly affects fish that have a low immunity.

Ich: a white patch shown on the body; it is known as white spot disease. It is caused by external parasites that irritate the skin. The symptom is itching on the skin, so they scratch their body with any object. The constant itching and scratches lead to a white spot all over the body. These symptoms include stress, dullness, loss of appetite, and even death, also caused by poor water quality.

Other common betta symptoms

Another condition is overfeeding the betta. If you overfeed them, they lead to constipation. This also causes death. Ensure you feed them with high-quality food and nutrition-rich food.

Constipation: overfeeding leads to constipation and lack of fiber in the diet. The treatment is fasting for 2-3 days, and feeding peas as well as high-quality betta food.

Lethargic: the causes of lethargy are cold water, high PH, nitrate, nitrite level, sickness, and stress. The treatment is to maintain water temperature, the range between 76-81 Fahrenheit.

Decrease appetite: the symptoms decrease the appetite. Proper feeding quantity and schedule the feeding.

Dropsy: it is a bacterial infection. The symptoms are swelling of the belly area. They are often fixed with proper water maintenance, and a counter medicine is easily available for dropsy.
