Foreschi betta has bred a variety of betta so they are highly intelligent but you need little patience for them. A betta can follow commands and you can train them to do such things as follow the finger, swim through hoops, eat from hand, etc.
How to catch Foreschi Betta attention:
Signal to incorporate: Fish’s best response training when they hear a clear signal. They help know when it’s time to look for a target.
Sound and vibration: fish have lateral line organs, they react when sound and vibration. At a major aqua, fish hear their trainer walking out on catwalks and platforms indicating that food is on the way. You can do this using a bell, call, clap, or footstep. The biggest components of training are patience and consistency. Use the same signal every time.
Light/shapes: switching light is the most common signal for indoor tanks. Fish can see color, but shapes and different colors will be easy to recognize.
Before teaching any technique to your betta, train your betta to follow directions. First catch the betta's attention, by dragging your finger across the fish tank, if they notice your finger they swim toward them, elsewhere simply ignore them. Flashing the light or clapping to drag the attention of your betta in the direction of your finger.
Some of the basic techniques you should teach your betta. Catch the betta's attention via light and sound. The first trick is to follow your finger; first, gently tap on the glass and wait to see if your betta notices your finger or ignores it.
The second technique is jumping. For that, you can hang the food stick and place it an inch from the water surface. You have to move your finger in different directions and make sure that it knows what it is aiming for. You can get your finger to stick to the food. A stick also can be used instead of a finger.
Swimming through hoops is one of the difficult tricks to teach. Use a pipe and band it with a circular motion. Everything is clean and sanitized. Move your finger and encourage Betta to follow. successfully passes in the hoop and rewards them with food.
After betta learn to swim up to your hand, and teach them to accept food directly from the hand. When you teach anything to betta by just talking to your fish, it makes a difference. For this first catch the betta's attention to lighting or sounds. Once they acknowledge you. Show a food piece and encourage them to catch it.
For this choose a hoop or bangles. Place it on the side. Move your finger where the hoop is placed. Every successful attempt gives them rewards. Repeat the process until they naturally swim through the hoop.
If your betta does not learn, be a little persistent. Don’t give them stress. Give them proper time to rest. When you start training, conduct a 5 -10 minute session. You can teach twice a day.
Hygiene is important; wash your hands with warm water. A shop contains toxins so it is better to avoid them. When you try to teach them new tricks the place is quiet. Don’t be aggressive when you try to teach them to be patient. It’s taking time to teach them.
Whatever you put in a tank whether it’s a hand, stick, or food. Also are properly washed and sanitized. Because these objects may bring bacteria and fungus to the tank which causes health problems.
