Butterflyfish is a tropical fish which lives in freshwater and saltwater. They have approximately 129 species. They are discovered in south East ocean.
Butterfly fish look like an angelfish and both belong to the coralfish. They are small fish and do not exceed 12 to 22 centimeters (94.7 to 8.7 inches) in length. The largest species in the group are lined butterflyfish and saddle butterflyfish which grow 30 cm in length. As an appearance both males and females look like the same the only difference is males are larger than females.
Butterfly fish are named for their bright color and striking pattern body in a variety of shades colors like white, blue, red, orange, and yellow. Some of the bettas were available in semi-dull color. A varied pattern is seen on butterfly wings, they have dark and flanky spots across their eyes. Because of the color variation, it is a popular aquarium fish.
Butterfly fish prefer a vitamin-rich marine diet. This included various fish, crustaceans, mollusk meat, and shrimp. You can also give them frozen food. They are omnivores, meaning they eat both live plant and animal protein.
Butterflyfish can live between 8 -10 years when you properly maintain and care. Longest survival butterfly betta is 7 years Improper care leads to many diseases such as dropsy, nitrite or nitrate poisoning, and black ich.
The breeding process is hard for butterflyfish. Adults require strict environmental control – the fertilized eggs only make things hard. Breeding butterfly fish is touch and go process with aquarists.
