When you teach the betta; start with the easy trick. So the chance of success is high. The starting train has two tricks: following the finger. Both methods are easy to teach and will make it useful to learn more tricks.
Before starting we have to consider some factors which help us to easily train aqua fish.
Signal to incorporate: Fish’s best response training when they hear a clear signal. They look toward a goal.
Sound and vibration: fish have lateral line organs, they react when sound and vibration. At a major aqua, fish hear their trainer walking out on catwalks and platforms indicating that food is on the way. You can do this using a bell, call, clap, or footstep. The biggest components of training are patience and consistency.
Light/shapes: switching light is the most common signal for indoor tanks. Using shapes as in the video, take extra training. Fish can see color, but shape and different colors will be easy to recognize.
As you know betta is intelligent as well as curious betta. You can teach various things to your betta and play cool tricks with them. Encouraging your fish to train hard food is the best reinforcement. Now let’s get to know the detailed view of training.
Put your finger outside the aqua tank near your fish. The first task is catching the attention of your fish. You can use light and sound to catch the attention and reward with food. Maybe it’s possible they cannot directly respond but try until they notice. Move your finger across the tank in different directions, each time fish respond with rewards with their food. Getting fish to follow your finger as move it’s difficult to teach. you can also up and down or left and right finger. Do not reward until they follow your finger. A caretaker is very well-known about how to train. food is the best encouragement for Betta.
With practice, your fish will learn to follow the finger while being fed. A caretaker knows how to train very well. Butterflyfish are one of the fastest swimmers; you can train them to swim through hoops. When you train them to swim through a hoop, choose a large hoop or pipe cleaner, which helps butterflyfish easily pass through. Make sure that the hoop is clean and does not have bacteria. Tie your hoop to a strong pole. hoop can be hung on the side of the tank. Catch the attention of the fish.
Before teaching any technique to your betta, train your betta to follow the finger. First catch the betta's attention, by dragging your finger across the fish tank, if they notice your finger they swim toward them, elsewhere simply ignore them. Betta is a natural jumper. To train your betta for jumping. Take one stick and any dried frozen food. Hook the food in the stick. Place the stick above the fish tank. A butterflyfish learns to jump. Make sure that your fish doesn’t jump over the side tank. Teach betta to identify feeding sticks, and attach the food to sharpe edges. Butterfly fish jump when water conditions are not appreciated. use a lid to prevent Betta jump outside the tank.
Butterfly fish are very picky eaters, you have to train them for feeding. You can interestingly feed them. Get your fish's attention via sound or light. If they do not catch your attention, keep the food in your palm and place them. Don’t leave the food in the water until the fish cannot take it on its own. Every successful attempt rewards them.
You have to train your fish to eat. Soak pellets in the food you want to feed.
