Behaviour

elegantly behaved crowntail betta fish

The crowntail betta originated from Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Malaysia. Wild bettas prefer to live in freshwater which is surrounded by rice paddies, marshes, and slow-moving streams or stagnant ponds.

They prefer to live in motionless water such as straightened ponds. This water can be dull and has a lot of vegetation. They prefer to live in warm water. The rivers were slow-moving and constant water. They do not need flowing water. they prefer to live in an environment that closely resembles to there natural habitat. To create this use almond leaves to look like their natural living look.

During the tropical climates, betta’s natural habitat is characterized by extreme and sudden movement in chemistry, water availability, and temperature. They prefer slightly acidic water ph value 6.9 to alkaline (pH of 8.2), the minimum air temperature as low as 15 °C (59 °F) and rise as high as 40 °C (100 °F).

If it’s possible, provide crowntail betta natural habitat, because they feel secure in their own space. Human activity destroyed their natural habitat and the growth of aquarium culture also lost their natural habitat.

crowntail betta breathes like a human, they inhale oxygen from the air. betta, like all labyrinth fish, breathes using a labyrinth organ. This specialized respiratory structure allows them to inhale oxygen directly from the air above the water surface, which enables them to live in a low-oxygen environment.
