Crowntail betta originated from the shallow rice fields of south asia native to Thailand; earlier they were known as siam. They were also discovered in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. It is one of the attractive aquarium fish and carries the history of the Siam warrior.
Crowntail betta needs a 10-gallon of water to live in so the betta can easily swim. Maintain water temperature between 76-81 Fahrenheit. They prefer slightly acidic water so the pH level is between 6.5 -7.0. RO water easily maintains this pH level. The hardness of the water is 2 – 5 dGH. The care level is easy to maintain.
Crowntail betta is impressive, which reduces webbing between rays on the caudal fin which looks like a crown. The crown's appearance comes from the spiky separate tips on the fins. They can grow up to 2.5 inches when fully mature so are grown up to 3 inches. A female is shorter than a male. They are available in vibrant colors which are solid colors such as blue and red. Females have faded colors.
Their food habitat is carnivorous so they eat a combination of food which is animal protein and green leaf. Make sure to find flakes or high-quality pellets that are protein-rich. You can eat plenty of meat to maintain nutritional value. You can add dried food and frozen food.
Both male and female bettas are aggressive, male betta are more territorial than female betta. They are friendly only compatible species. Males build a bubble nest on the surface of the water. The fish spawn with the males building bubble nests, after which they protect the eggs and raise the young. After the spawn male betta repairs the bubble nest.
Crowntail betta is famous for build-a-bubble in the betta world they are famous for nest building. For breeding combtail required special care and attention. The bubble nest is built on a water surface by a male so it is a floating female who lays the egg in the nest. After spawning it is important to shift females to the other tank. The male is responsible for fertilizing eggs and hatching.
pollution industrial development is the biggest threat to the wild bettas. Much of their natural habitat has been destroyed by human activity which is chemical and refinery plantation or industrial development.
