Betta is a carnivorous fish that requires a high-protein diet to live. They prefer to eat animal protein and a plant-based diet. They prefer to eat live food and frozen food which include mosquito, brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. crowntail betta can enjoy high protein dried and frozen foods. Their favorite foods are brine shrimp when they are young and finger food which is bloodworms.

They have small stomachs, so feed them a small portion of food three to four times a day. You can feed them twice a day and avoid large feeding times. each feeding session has 2 minutes.

A common sign of overfeeding is body looks swollen and eye-popping. Overfeeding leads to an incorrect nitrogen cycle and causes constipation. As a tropical fish, offer them a variety of food.

Feed them live food, pellets, frozen and dried food. Feed them a moderate amount of food. They are a fussy eater. Frozen food such as blood and black worms, mosquito larvae, and brine shrimp; live food such as insect and mosquito larvae and white worms is an ideal food. As a treat or reward offer them a pellet. Each serving offers 2-3 pellets.

Betta has a weak immune system and digestion system. Serve a betta small portion of food, if you overfeed the betta, they can develop constipation and bloating.

Common betta food:

Flake food: flake food comes with different fillers so Betta remains interested in food. But feeding for a long time the same food causes bloating.

Frozen food: this is one of the favorite betta foods such as bloodworms. Some of the betta caretakers use frozen food like junk food or primary food.

Freeze-dried: treat your betta sometimes for change offer them Daphnia, Brine Shrimps, and Bloodworms as an occasional treat. When they are bored from the regular diet offer them dried worms or shrimp.
